Comics Bootcamp! – Adult and Teen (13+) Program
Join us to explore the rhythm of the comics grid and take your comics-making game to a new level. Simple exercises will push you in mind-bending directions. If you can draw a silly-looking batman, have ever kept a diary or journal or like to free write or free draw, this workshop is for you!

Let’s Make Comics! – Kids Program
Take a crash course in comics making – for kids of all ages. We will bring the grids, the markers, the know-how – you bring your personal spark! Discover the comics-maker within you and let them out!

Open Studio
Take a break from the buzzing action of the day, channel some of that energy and those new ideas into your own comics. Guidance and materials will be on hand for those who need additional inspiration. This session will be an open format workshop where you will be able to work on self-directed projects with assistance from the instructor.

The Pittsburgh Comics Salon is a cultural initiative dedicated to creating an ecosystem for Comics Making in Pittsburgh. This includes hosting workshops, readings, gallery exhibitions and publishing solo works and anthologies by Pittsburgh based artists.  Your instructor will be Juan Fernandez, a cartoonist and comics community organizer who organizes the Pittsburgh Comics Salon and manages comicsworkbook.com, the online magazine for comics makers.
