Home Rehabilitation Loans

Home Rehabilitation Program

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has made Community Development Block Grant and HOME Investment Partnership Program assistance available to Washington County for projects and activities which principally benefit low and moderate income persons. In addition, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) has made funds available to Washington County for projects that provide affordable housing.

Consistent with the objectives of the Federal Community Development Block Grant Program and HOME Investment Partnership Program, the County Commissioners have established a program of housing rehabilitation loans designed to assist low and moderate income homeowners in making needed repairs and improvements to their properties.

The home rehabilitation loan may be used to correct present, or soon to be present, housing problems, and for energy conservation improvements. In general, most repairs are eligible except for unnecessary luxuries or strictly cosmetic repairs. All properties funded will, at a minimum, meet International Property Maintenance Code (ICC) Standards upon completion. The loan may not be used to refinance existing debt.

Many solutions were discussed and it was decided to have monthly meetings to make sure that everything is being done as it should moving forward.

Thank you for your patience, we are doing our best to help this new company do their best in our community. We will continue to update the residents about the meetings moving forward.

Canonsburg Solicitation Policy

To All Canonsburg Residents:

It has come to our attention that there have been groups going door to door in Canonsburg either passing out information or attempting to sell goods or services.
If someone come to your door, PLEASE ask to see their Canonsburg Solicitation Permit, those who have gone through the permitting process will have a signed permit that they can provide to you. When these groups come to Canonsburg, we have them complete a background check and we take a copy of their driver’s license to make it as safe as possible for our residents, if they do not have that permit, they did not go through the proper steps.

If someone comes to your door and cannot provide a valid permit, call 9-1-1 and PLEASE never let anyone you do not know into your home – whether they have a Canonsburg solicitation permit or not.
