Plans, organizes, and stages festivities on July fourth each year. Parade begins at 10am and runs the length of Pike Street, Noon-6pm Festival in the Park with food booths, free kids activities, live entertainment; at dark spectacular fireworks display at Canon-McMillan Stadium.

The merchant association sponsors the annual Halloween Parade (10/28/2006) and the Old Fashioned Christmas in Canonsburg (12/2/2006) featuring a lunch with Santa, ornament making, and Christmas Parade at 3pm. The merchants also provided the Christmas decorations for Pike Street.

The historical society maintains a library and museum at the middle school auditorium (open by appointment) containing various historical artifacts from the Canonsburg area.

The society seeks to remember Canonsburg diverse ethnic heritage. In 1999 they unveiled the Perry Como statue at the borough building. They have recently completed having markers placed throughout town at various historical sites.
