Frank Sarris Library Board of Trustees
The Library Board of Trustees is made up of seven representatives of Canonsburg Borough, Cecil Township, North Strabane Township and the Canon-McMillan School District who are selected by those governing bodies as well as two at large members that are chosen by the board itself. The Library Board of Trustees assists in setting library policies, works with the Library Director to prepare the annual budget and oversee the expenditure of funds, and appoints a Library Director.
Parks and Recreation Board
Unless specifically limited, shall be deemed to include all parks, playgrounds, recreation areas, tennis courts, beaches, recreation structures and facilities and, also, entrances and approaches thereto, and all other land or property or structures under the jurisdiction of the Police Department, now or hereafter owned or acquired by the Borough of Canonsburg for park or recreational purposes.
Planning Commission
The Planning Commission is a 5 member Board whose primary function is to review matters pertaining to subdivisions, land development, zoning revisions, amendments to the zoning and land development ordinances, and updates to the Borough's Comprehensive Plan.
Sewer Authority
The Canonsburg-Houston Joint Sewer Authority provides sanitary sewer services to commercial and residential users.
Zoning Hearing Board
The Zoning Hearing Board is a 4 member Board that is empowered to rule on various provisions of the Borough's zoning ordinance. Decisions are rendered on public appeals involving requests for special exceptions, variances and zoning interpretations.
